Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Do Android dream of Electric Sheep is a novel that is about human behavior. There are things that are natural to humans, the need for touch, the need for love, the need for community. The whole spectrum of humans living in this world actually share really basic things, from people with some disability, to the most intelligent people, to the most gifted sportsman or even the most evil people that have ever lived before, we all share some basic human kind of set of rules. But know that we know what makes a human human, we can ask the question that what makes an android an android?

Androids are a representation of human like thinking process. Androids are just our very own ego's trying to make everything as simple as we can. In a certain time in history, this point has been touched many many times before, how technology will aid us in day-to-day tasks, and what better way to implement this other than making an actual copy of human like thinking process? A.K.A., an Android. Are androids really important? How about a time when we have a so devastating war, that everything will go away and we can no longer live here, and have our own lives, will we need them then? And so, because they are actual human imitations, why can't they be just a little bit more human? Could it be the case that the more we're trying to get androids to be more human we're loosing some of our own humanity in the way?

Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep is the kind of novel that leaves you with a dull taste in the mouth: Did Rick Deckard really had to pursuit all those andys? And how are we not sure that Rick Deckard is not an android himself? He wakes up with some computer system, inadvertently, and can mess around with the configurations of those systems. He also has the Penfield station that controls his emotions, I mean, all of those things don't sound so human after all. Would it be that we're getting in a world so deeply needful and technology dependent, that there will be a point where we will no longer know how to manage our own emotions, so that we will have to program them in a box for us to use? In that case, would't the android understand human emotions better than humans themselves?
